Art Therapy – Love

  • Huddinge, Stockholm County Sweden (map)

Session 9: Love

Shadow work: Betrayal

This group art therapy session focuses on the theme of love as a foundation for safety, trust, and connection. Love here is seen as both an internal experience and a relational quality—like the protective shelter of a tree or the comforting embrace of a home. This session invites participants to creatively explore and build their own sense of safe space, nurturing emotional security and belonging.

Session Structure

  • Opening & Grounding (30 minutes)
The session begins with a welcoming circle and a guided meditation centered on feelings of safety, warmth, and acceptance. Participants are encouraged to connect with their inner sense of love and protection, creating a calm and trusting environment.

  • Creative Construction – Expressive Process (1 hour)
Using a variety of materials—such as paper, fabric, natural objects, or modeling clay—participants will create visual or tactile representations of a safe space. This could be a physical structure, a symbolic environment, or an abstract form that embodies comfort and love.
Gentle music, tea, and biscuits will support a soothing atmosphere. The focus is on personal meaning and the process of nurturing, rather than artistic skill.

  • Reflection & Integration
The session concludes with time for participants to share their creations and reflections, either with the group or privately with the facilitator. The emphasis is on recognizing how love and safety are experienced and can be cultivated within and between us.

This session offers a nurturing container where love becomes a creative force to build emotional safety, resilience, and connection.
