Arts Therapy - Let go!

  • Huddinge, Stockholm County Sweden (map)

Session 3: Let go, let it flow!

Shadow work: Addiction & Greed

This group art therapy session invites participants to explore the theme of letting go through breath and free movement. Letting go is approached as a natural process, like the falling leaves, changing tides, and the continuous voyage of release and renewal. Through movement and breath, the body becomes the medium for expression, allowing what is held to soften and transform.

Shadow works: Greed

The session unfolds in a fluid way, responding to the energy and needs of the group, and honoring each participant’s personal rhythm.

Session Structure

  • Opening & Grounding (30 minutes)
The session begins with a welcoming circle and a guided breathing and expantion practice. Attention is brought to the natural rhythm of inhalation and exhalation, creating a sense of safety and presence. Gentle guidance helps participants connect with bodily sensations and prepare for movement without pressure or expectation.

  • Ecstatic dance – Somatic Art Process (1 hour)
Participants are guided into a free movement and ecstatic dance experience, supported by carefully curated music that gradually builds and softens, echoing natural waves of energy. There is no choreography and no right or wrong way to move. Participants are invited to follow their breath, impulses, and inner sensations.
This practice allows stored tension, emotions, and unexpressed energy to find release through the body. Movement becomes a form of creative expression, grounded in sensation rather than performance.

  • Reflection & Integration
The final phase offers space for rest, stillness, and reflection. Participants may choose to share their experience verbally, through gesture, or in quiet presence, either within the group or privately with the facilitator. The focus is on noticing what has shifted, softened, or been released, and how this experience can be carried into daily life.

This session creates a safe container for embodied release, where breath and movement support the natural act of letting go and reconnecting with vitality, flow, space and freedom.
